Read the Actor Character Profile in the Character Control document and take stock of any existing reference material in the model’s Reference folder.
You will need reference images of some person –
perhaps the actor or actress listed in the character’s Control document under
‘Role Model’ – and as many as you can get.
If you are not sure about this, check with me. The subject of the reference shots does not
have to look like the model but usually your reference shots must all be of the
same person. You can use pictures you
may have, take pictures of some person or, you can go on the Internet and do
searches to find images. The higher the
resolution of the images, the better.

You will use these reference images for any the
following:
a) Optionally, to use directly to create a base
for the color map, the wrinkle bump map and the bump map for the lips
b) To reference for creating the color maps and
the wrinkle, lip and blemish bump maps
c) To lift colors from for certain parts for
certain parts of the face such as the lips and upper and lower eye lids.
You should place all these images in the model’s
Reference folder.
